This is a stunning piece, the softness and delicacy of the butterfly are very evocative of frailty and beauty. The smoothness and sense of frailness and wondrous nature is so well captured in the tiniest details of the butterfly's wings, clear and vivid creamy spots over the darker warm colors of the wings' borders. I love how you can perceive the subtle colors in the wings as well, they are not just dark brown, there is a touch of reddish, a soft spectrum of brown, and the bottom border resembles a dry autumn leaf, which reminds nicely of the title, connecting to it. The only bit I find distracting is the bright touches of color on the blurred background, the softened background is great, but the bright green and the pink flowers tinting it are very distracting from the butterfly and foreground flowers, regardless, the picture is still gorgeous, with its soft detail and pleasant atmosphere.
Very beautiful! I disagree that the flower or the green parts are distracting, I find they make the piece so much more interesting to look at. Neither the butterfly alone or the flowers would be much to look at but here they complete the picture together. Nicely done!
